A conventional wiper has only one edge that can lift slightly as it passes over debris to cause smears. No chattering—pressure is placed on 4 edges (not just one), so the blade can't set or chatter…ever. When not in use, an ordinary single-blade rubber wiper (even a new one) can set into a permanent curve against your windshield; it will wipe effectively in one direction, but chatter when moving in the opposite direction. No freezing or sticking—wiper is made of nonporous synthetic, so it will never freeze, stick or tear. A conventional wiper is made of porous rubber which can trap water and freeze to your windshield. Rustproof aerodynamic stainless steel frame and Lexan® spline hold wiper firmly against windshield—no lift even in high winds or at high speeds.
