Performance Car Shock Absorbers

Air-Adjustable Shock Absorbers from JC Whitney’s huge collection of VW Suspension and Chassis are perfect for carrying extra passengers or heavy loads and are designed to fit your '69?'79 Beetle, Super Beetle, Ghia and '69?'72 Fastback and Squareback perfectly. They help prevent your VW’s rear end from sagging, providing your VW with increased tire clearance and improved traction. These Adjustable Shock Absorbers enable you to raise the rear end of your VW by up to 4" and allow you to adjust to the required height. VW Adjustable Shock Absorbers come with all the necessary tools and instructions for an easy and effortless installation.

Bilstein® 5100 Series Off-Road Gas Shocks are valved to ensure improved handling and better ride quality. These VW Shocks have a mono-tube gas-pressure design providing you with a fade-free performance and longer service life. A race-proven self-adjusting disc valve helps you to control your VW better ensuring greater stability. Strong, chrome-plated 14-mm casehardened rods have a 2" diameter for increased oil capacity and better cooling. These Bilstein® Shocks have vulcanized rubber end-loop assemblies and a seamless zinc-plated shock body with a black boot making them extremely durable.

Replacement Shock Absorbers

Adjustable Overload Shock Absorbers from EMPI come with three load settings and can carry weight up to 700 lbs. The heavy-duty shocks with 1-3/16" piston help improve suspension control and handling. Easy to install, these chrome Adjustable Overload Shock Absorbers are strong and highly durable.

Heavy-Duty VW Shock Absorbers from Gabriel® come with an over-sized 1-3/16" diameter hardened steel piston that efficiently resist vibrations and sway providing your VW with improved stability and ride control. Gabriel® Shock Absorbers feature an all-weather fluid for enhanced stability and smooth cylinder walls for less friction. Made of top-quality materials, these corrosion-resistant VW Shock Absorbers are very strong and highly durable.

Shock Absorber Mounts & Hardware

Long-Travel Lower Shock Extensions from EMPI can be used to convert your link pin axle beam to a high-jumping, long-travel setup. They allow you to install the off-road shocks with a minimum of 8-1/2" of travel on your VW link pin axle beam. These VW Shock Extensions can be easily welded on to the existing shock towers.

The all-weather fluid provides more consistent performance even in extremes temperatures and contains additives for extended service life.
